Although its imponent size, in the prehispanical times it was not the biggest, but it was after the pyramid of Cholula. Anyway, only the Pyramid of Teotihuacan was reconstructed; that did not happened to the other one.
The curious side of the story is that the job was wrongly done, since after the fact studies proved the original construction had only four levels, and not five as it is now.

This Cathedral, one of the most picturesque of all Mexico, is the result of succesive overimposed architectonical styles: Barroc, Rococo and Churriguiaresque. All that give the facade a very complex outlook.
